Some long summer days...

The 21st of June is the longest day of the year in Denmark. The sun doesn’t go down till after 11 pm, and even though it’s down, you are still able to see pretty well at night. It is really nice that we can stay outside for so long time, but at winter time the sun goes down around 3:30-5 pm. So in the summer time it’s nice to be up north, but it sucks at winter time.

This picture was taken at 10:15 pm yesterday

Flæskesteg - a danish tradition

A few days ago, my family and I, had a Danish dish called “Flæskesteg”. For the most part we’ll only eat this dish Christmas Eve, but sometimes you just have to eat it more than once a year. The dish consist of; potatoes with gravy, some chips with salt, rødkål with is made of (red) cabbage, and then of cause the meat with is pork with the skin on it, called Flæskesteg.

Most people eat this dish at Christmas Eve, other eat duck, or turkey. Flæskesteg is one of our “national dishes”. Most people also consider “frikadeller” and “stegt flæsk” for being national dishes.
